PD Video Manipulation Project

This is my PD patch, with it you can fade between two movies, change the background colour, pixelate the image, rotate (vertically + horizontally) use the mousegem to change the video on the video window and stop and start each video

This is one of my flash projects. i will integrate it into my FYP in some shape or form. it is basically a digital archeology game for kids. when it is fully complete there will be more functions and puzzles.

Arduino Morse code

This is one of my arduino projects. It allows the user to input a string of any length and see the morse code output through the LED,

I started off with a blank canvas and divided it into 8 sections which correspond to the photo i took of the original

I was hoping to make the intire object from Circuitry but it proved too difficult. I then decided to mix the mediums of paint and up cycled products such as cassette/vhs tape, Photo negatives, computer components, oil paints and a plastic bottle.

the hair is made from cassette tape to give the curly hair effect

the
the wine bottle is made from a plastic water bottle and painted brown on the inside for effect. the label is made with a micro processor.

the only bit of circuit board on the upcycled piece id the dicky bow

the sign been held up by the waiter is made from wiring, laptop keys, and old photo negatives from my time in Aus.

I felt this the object would be more realistic with paint. above is an example. i painted part of the face, the background and the apron using my fingers.

here is some of the materials i used to complete the object

some of the upcycled led's and computer components.

Although I didnt use a lot of the circuitry, for this project, i hope to use it for future projects.
I really enjoyed this project. its nice to get away from the computer screen once and a while and I would recommend it to anyone.

Arduino project.

Ardiuno Morse Code

a nice and easy starting point for an ardiuno project. maybe use something other than led and sound imput.

These are the slides from myself and Tuans Presentation on Visual thinking using Mind Mapping. We found mind mapping to be a very helpful way to brainstorm and think creatively. I personally use it to plan out my Masters Dissertation and other projects in university.

Rene Bohne Ardiuno

Rene Bohne is a computer sciences at the RWTH Aachen University. He is doing a PhD at the Media Computing Group of RWTH Aachen University and  run his own company in Aachen. He came to give us a brief introduction to Ardiuno but the main point of interest in my opinion was the work he isd part of in the German Fablab in Aachen.

Fablab this is the link to Rene's Page

so far in our course we have seen some of the functionalities of the Arduino. Fablab use it is a mor artic way

my UpCycled Piece "Plat del Dia" 4cats restaurant

this piece is made using video tape, cassette tape, photo negatives, wires, circuit boards,a processor, led, computer keys and paint.

I started out trying to use just circuit boards but it proved to difficult.
